Should I treat the beginnings of the megabase as its own entity or as an extension of the other base?ĭo I have the right idea? What am I missing? What pitfalls should I look out for? Or is there a better way by maybe starting at the other end and make things my original(starter) base has insufficient production. Speaking of the proper order, I suppose I just replicate as a block each production item in roughly the order I made them in my original factory? Smelters first, then red and green science and keep going. I'll start with 4:2:1 and see how that goes. Am I thinking this right? Of course, green circuits produce much faster than either of the other two. Seems like I'll need 22 green circuit blocks to produce 1 red and 1 blue. I'll have to figure out that ratio(2 green + stuff = 1 red and 2 red + 20 green + stuff = 1 blue). Of course, I know that one green circuit train won't supply all that, so I need more green circuit blocks. My thought was start with one green circuit, one red circuit, and one blue circuit. I am making an assumption, but I'm sure that making blocks in a proper order is probably better than just randomly slapping down blocks of production. If I don't produce enough fast enough, then my output train is waiting and if I produce too much(is there such a thing) then the assemblers go idle while waiting for additional trains. I guess I don't really understand yet how many assemblers I'll need to consume as much as I am delivered. So, two inputs and one output would mean 3 stations in the block There should be a separate train line for inputs and outputs. Then from the local storage, it's fed into a line of production that produces the wires and the circuits. I am guessing I need local storage for iron and copper that the trains will offload into. These materials will be brought in by a train with 4 cars. This means 1.5 copper and 1 iron plate per each.

So, if that one thing is green circuits, I bring in all the raw materials(bars not ores) to build everything on site. Here is my understanding.Ī city block only does one thing. I have a ton of area to the south and I thought I would try to make city blocks of production. This table was produced using normal recipe difficulty.I have a working base that launched a rocket. The crafting of some intermediate products are not shown (due to the assumption that these items are available in large quantities within the factory).

Items per min is calculated using assembling machine 3 with no modules or beacons and all assemblers running at full speed. The following shows the minimum ratio of assemblers/machines and items required to produce advanced circuits such that all number of assemblers are whole numbers. Due to their slow build time, assembling machine 3s with speed modules may be useful in their production. As an example of the demand, a finished productivity module 3 requires a total of 35 advanced circuits. They require an oil processing setup as they are produced using plastic bars.Īdvanced circuits are slower to build than most other intermediate components, require three inputs, and are in high demand. Advanced circuits (or "red circuits") are used as components in most high-tech items, most notably in chemical science packs, but also logistics robot items, modules, and equipment.
